Theatre Wallay started its project Voices of Partition in December 2014, and completed it in November 2015. In the first phase, the stories of partition survivors were collected, and a play titled ‘Dagh Dagh Ujala’ was developed based on those stories. The play was performed in Islamabad and Lahore in April and May 2015. In the second phase, the play was translated into English (This Stained Dawn), and performed in USA in October and November 2015. The below video documentary covers our journey from inception of the project to its culmination in the performance of the Urdu play.
